Jimmy Mora Silva is a classical guitarist and performer of historical instruments. He studied at the National Conservatory of Music in Guayaquil, Ecuador. He received an AA from Brookdale Community College and BA from University of Maryland. His teachers were Ryuhei Kobayashi, Barry Eisner, Javier Alem, Daniel Wolff and Mark Delpriora. He studied 19th century guitar, baroque guitar, renaissance lute and baroque accompaniment with Patrick O’Brien.

His performances include Artists International’s Award Concert Series at Weill Recital Hall at Carnegie Hall; Fugger Concert Series at Mozarthaus in Augsburg, Germany; national television broadcast in Ecuador; Radio 90.5 WBJB FM and Latin American shows in Japan. Performed early music with the New York Continuo Collective including L’Orfeo by Luigi Rossi at BEMF fringe concert; and with Queens College Baroque Opera: Il Giasone by Francesco Cavalli.

Jimmy studied with Robert Abramson at the Dalcroze Summer Institute at Juilliard and Alexander Technique with Beret Arcaya. He taught at the Hackley Music Institute and the Music Conservatory of Westchester.
